Building Lean, Edge-Native Workplace Attendance
Why we built CloudAttend: eliminating clunky wall clocks, cutting server bloat, and respecting user biometric privacy.
The Genesis: Why Fingerprint Terminals Failed Us
CloudAttend was born out of frustration with legacy attendance systems. Organizations were forced to spend hundreds of dollars on fragile wall clocks, pull Ethernet cables, and deal with scratched sensors. The moment employees visited client sites or interns rotated labs, physical clocks became useless.
Engineering Discipline: Zero Framework Bloat
Instead of building a bloated stack burdened by heavy client frameworks, we engineered CloudAttend with clean TypeScript, Hono, and Cloudflare Workers + D1. The result is instant cold starts, sub-second page loads, and zero server hosting fees for growing teams.
Radical Technical Honesty
We refuse to publish dishonest marketing buzzwords like 'foolproof anti-fake GPS' or 'sub-millisecond edge speed' that defy physical reality. We explain plainly what our code does, where browser limits exist, and how managers can run sensible operational safeguards.
